This guide explains what to expect when accessing a Monarch Core Insights (MCI) dashboard. MCI is ODU鈥檚 new enterprise reporting platform that provides strategic, governed insights to support your work. MCI dashboards are hosted on Tableau Cloud, securely behind MIDAS Single-Sign On (SSO). In line with data governance best practice, you will only have access to dashbaords that are relevant to you. Follow the steps below to find and access a report.
Dashboard access is governed based on role and business need for access to the associated data. If you cannot access a dashboard you believe you should be able to, please submit an Account & Access Request, also found on the MCI webpage. The new environment aligns with data security and governance best practices. Based on your role some data may be masked or appear 鈥榤issing鈥. For example, if the data are sensitive or not applicable to your role (e.g., personally identifiable information, information for a college or unit of which you are not part), they may not appear.
Finding an MCI Dashboard
1. Go to MCI at /monarch-core-insights.
2. Select the relevant content area (e.g., Admissions, Enrollment, Outcomes, Institutional Research, etc.) from the righthand menu or the 鈥淥ur Dashboards鈥 section of the webpage.
3. Browse the list of available dashboards, consulting the descriptions to understand the dashboard content.
4. Click the blue dashboard link button to initiate access.
Accessing Your Dashboard
New dashboards in MCI will prompt MIDAS SSO after following Tableau Cloud sign in. Legacy Power BI dashboards will directly prompt MIDAS SSO.
- If you are prompted to 鈥淪ign in to Tableau Cloud鈥, please enter your ODU staff email address and click 鈥淪ign In鈥
- When you are prompted by the Monarch-Key sign on window, enter your MIDAS ID and password to authenticate via SSO.
Already logged in? If you are signed into your ODU account in the same browser session, the dashboard may load automatically without logging in again.
