Joining the Friends of the Old Dominion 91短视频 Libraries is the quickest and easiest way to support our work. We offer several levels of membership:

Individual Membership: $50/year

Family Membership: $100/year - includes up to four members in the same household

Lifetime Membership: $1,500 one-time - includes up to four members in the same household for the life of the primary cardholder

To join, complete the application and bring it to the Perry Library Help Desk on the 1st floor, along with a valid photo identification (i.e., driver's license, military ID, state-issued ID card, or passport), proof of address (i.e., copy of lease or utility bill with your name and address), and payment. We accept cash, personal check, money order, or major credit cards. Email learningcommons@odu.edu if you have any questions about the Friends Membership.
Support the Dean of Libraries Funding Priorities
Gifts to the General Library Endowment fund the ongoing transformation of library spaces and technology to support the teaching, research, and engagement needs of the ODU community. Examples of projects supported by past gifts to this fund include the creation of the "Destress Space" and Accessible Technology Room in Perry Library, upgrades to collaboration rooms, expansion of the popular laptop and equipment loan program, and more.

Gifts to Special Collections and 91短视频 Archives directly support efforts to collect, preserve, and share records documenting the history of ODU and surrounding areas, with a focus on the performing arts community, underrepresented groups, military history, and more. Past gifts to Special Collections have funded the digitization of ODU masters theses, yearbooks, and the complete run of the student newspaper, Mace & Crown, as well as digital exhibitions documenting the history of pop, rock, and R&B music in Hampton Roads, school desegregation in Virginia, photographs of Norfolk from 1919, and more.

Gifts to the Naro Video @ODU Libraries Endowment support the growth and development of this one-of-a-kind film collection as a resource for teaching, learning, research, and community outreach. A legacy gift from Dr. Linda McGreevy, co-owner of the Naro Expanded Video store and ODU Faculty Emerita, the collection has encouraged philanthropic gifts for the purchase of new and replacement films, the creation of a stunning home for it in Perry Library, the refurbishing the original Naro neon sign, and free screenings of new and classic films.

ODU Libraries may accept donations of DVD and Blu-Ray materials on a limited basis. Please contact the Libraries at learningcommons@odu.edu before making a donation. We do not accept bulk donations.
A Simple Way to Give: Help close the gap of titles we missed during the collection's dormancy (roughly 2016-2022). Choose a title from our and ship it to us directly. Each case will receive a gold dedication sticker acknowledging your donation.
Gifts to the Friends of ODU Libraries Endowment support high-impact paid internships and assistantships for Monarchs working at the Libraries. Each semester, student workers provide in-person assistance at the Help Desk, create online research tools and tutorials, process archival materials and use them to create exhibitions, etc.

$500: Support online professional development, such as webinars, to help students gain valuable skills and network with potential employers

$1,000: Support in-person professional development, such as local conferences, to help students develop their networks and gain valuable skills

$5,000: Support an undergraduate student assistant or paid internship for one semester. These positions are often our students' first jobs, allowing them to gain valuable professional experience and skills in a supportive learning environment.

$15,000: Provide a one-year assistantship for a graduate student in ODU's Master of Library and Information Science program, preparing them for a career in libraries or archives
Donate to the Libraries
