Understanding Mindsets in the Classroom: Presentation & Workshop with Dr. Katherine Muenks You’re invited to an inspiring presentation and interactive workshop with Dr. Katherine Muenks, a leading researcher in student academic motivation. Dr. Muenks explores how beliefs about intelligence — whether it’s fixed or can grow — shape students’ learning experiences, motivation, and achievement. Her work focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and the powerful role teachers, parents, and peers play in shaping student success. During the presentation, Dr. Muenks will discuss how faculty mindsets influence students’ psychological and academic outcomes, how those beliefs are communicated in the classroom, and what happens when student and faculty perceptions don’t align. Afterward, join the hands-on workshop (with lunch provided!) to explore research-based strategies for cultivating a growth mindset in your own teaching or learning environment. Attendance at the presentation is not required to join the workshop.
