Dr. Venicia Ferrell holds a BS in Marine & Environmental Science, MT in Marine Biology, from Hampton 91Ƶ, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, from Old Dominion 91Ƶ. Dr. Ferrell also holds a Graduate Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration from The George Washington 91Ƶ. Formerly a K-12 Science Curriculum Leader and Coordinator in Hampton City Schools and Virginia Beach City Public Schools. She has experience working on projects sponsored by organizations including the National Science Foundation, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Office of Naval Research, and the Virginia Department of Education. Her areas of interest and expertise include environmental literacy, K-12 STEM teacher professional development, science education, educational leadership, teacher professional development, curriculum design, assessment design, Argument-Driven Inquiry, problem-based learning, and project-based learning.
