Application Process

All interviews will be conducted virtually. The deadline for ERAS application submission is October 20.

The Dermatology Residency Program will only accept applications via the (ERAS) through our participation in the (NRMP). Please do not email application materials to the program.


A complete application will include all of the following:

  • ERAS application form
  • A digital photograph
  • Personal statement
  • Medical school dean's letter
  • Medical school transcript
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation
  • First-time passing score on USMLE Step 1
  • First-time passing score on Step 2 is strongly encouraged

Applicants who have completed a prior residency must also submit:

  • A letter of recommendation from previous residency director(s)

Interviews are by invitation only. All applicants will be notified by e-mail whether or not they are selected for interviews. Those selected for interviews will choose from a list of dates to participate.

Our program is an advanced program. One year of training in an accredited broad-based residency program is required prior to beginning the PGY-2 year in Dermatology. Acceptable broad-based PGY-1 programs include:

Transitional year or a first year residency in:

  • General surgery
  • Internal medicine
  • Family medicine
  • Pediatrics
  • Obstetrics & gynecology
  • Emergency medicine

The Dermatology Residency is an ACGME-accredited 3-year program resulting in board eligibility for Dermatology.
