As you set up subscriptions, streaming services, online shopping, and other personal accounts, please use a personal email address rather than your @odu.edu address.
Your ODU email is not permanent. Once you graduate or leave the university, your inbox will eventually be deactivated and deleted. Using your university account for third-party services can lead to losing access to those personal accounts down the road.
Quick Rule of Thumb:
- ODU email (@odu.edu): Reserve exclusively for classes, campus announcements, and official university business.
- Personal email: Use for all personal subscriptions, social media, shopping, and third-party logins.
Taking a few minutes to use your personal email now will save you from locked accounts later!
