What is the ImageStream MK II?

in Flow Core, is distinctive for

ImageStreamX Mk II Imaging Flow Cytometer

blending speed and sensitivity of a flow tool with the detailed imaging capabilities of a microscope. This combination allows the capture of high-quality images of cells during flow experiments. The ImageStream MKII can analyze up to 5000 cells per second, capturing images of thousands to millions of individual cells in a sample. This speed and accuracy are better than what's usually achieved with regular microscopy methods. Unlike other instruments in the Flow Core, the ImageStream MKII can recover and return unused sample from its fluidic system back into the original sample tube for reuse.

The ImageStream MK II housed in the Flow Core utilizes a 3-laser array, allowing for 6 high-resolution imaging channels including the brightfield and side scatter. Please refer to the table below for available lasers and suggested fluorophores.

The ImageStream MK II is available for individual use following an initial training session. include Assisted Acquisition, Unassisted Acquisition (after training), Flow-Jo data reanalysis, and Assisted Flow-Jo data reanalysis.

Responsibilities and policies

At Flow Core, we don't take responsibility for the data from your experiments. It's up to you to save and keep your data on suitable storage devices like flash drives or hard drives. Remember, the data on the ImageStream workstation is cleaned up regularly. If you haven't saved your data elsewhere, it will be lost.

Flow Core personnel are responsible for the startup and shutdown of this instrument, but users are responsible for arriving at the date/time of their reserved time slot, and are expected to have completed all work by 5:00pm. Please plan out your experiments accordingly.
