Abstract
Coastal areas are critical zones ecologically and economically, and they are morphologically complex and evolving due to human and natural processes. This seminar will share research on microplastic accumulation in Narragansett Bay sediments, storm-driven beach and dune dynamics in Rhode Island and Cape Cod. Additionally, investigations of blue carbon habit changes in Indonesia and the Philippines will be discussed.  For each project, community concerns and engagement will be highlighted, and the importance of science in management will be emphasized.
