Dr. Arif Akgul received his Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science and a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice from Washington 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Ankara 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ (Turkey), and a Bachelor of Arts in Security Science from the College of Security Sciences (Turkey). He was previously the Chief Research Officer for Academic Affairs at Indiana 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.

Dr. Raid Al-Aomar received his Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research as well as a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing Systems from Wayne 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. Previously, She was a Senior Leader for the Autonomous Systems Capability Leadership Team at NASA.

Ms. Kathryn Amtower received a Master of Library and Information Science with a concentration in Archival Studies and Imaging Technology from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of North Texas and a Bachelor of Science in History from Gettysburg College. Previously, she was the Academic Department Coordinator for the East Asian Studies Department at Dickinson College.

Mr. Agyare Asante received a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Engineering from Suzhou 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Science and Technology (China) and a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Science and Technology (Ghana). Dr. Ian Azarov received his Doctor of Philosophy in Biological Sciences and Physiology from Russia. He is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Technology at Czech Technical 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ(Czech Republic), a Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Physiology at the Medical Institute of Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ (Russia), and a Chief Researcher in the Department of Cardiac Physiology at the Institute of Physiology of Komi Science Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Dr. Arash Ghorbannia is a Research Assistant Professor of Medical Modeling and Simulation at the Macon and Joan Brock Virginia Health Sciences (VHS) and the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center (VMASC) at Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. His multidisciplinary training spans Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc., K.N. Toosi 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Technology, 2012), Aerospace Engineering (M.Sc., Sharif 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Technology, 2015), and Biomedical Engineering (Ph.D., Medical College of Wisconsin & Marquette 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, 2022) followed by postdoctoral fellowships at Herma Heart Institute, Children’s Wisconsin (2023) and Duke 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ (2025).

Dr. Roy received a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Jadavpur 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ (India), an M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, and a B.Tech. in Information Technology from Netaji Subhash Engineering College (India).

Dr. Samandair received a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Tehran (Iran), as well as a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Tabriz (Iran). He was previously a Research Instructor and Co-Director of the Laboratory for Innovative Microtechnologies and Biomechanics at The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Connecticut Health Center.

Dr. Sarrafzadeh received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Wollongong (Australia), an M.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ (Turkey), and a B.S. in Computer Science from Oklahoma 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. Previously, he was recognized as a 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Distinguished Professor and the Director of the Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education, and Outreach at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.

Dr. Scarneo-Miller received a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Exercise Science from The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Connecticut, as well as a B.S. in Kinesiology and Athletic Training from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of New Hampshire. She was previously an Assistant Professor in the Division of Athletic Training and the Program Director for the Athletic Training Program at West Virginia 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.

Dr. Bridgette Schram received her Doctor of Philosophy in Public Health from Georgia 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, a Master of Science in Kinesiology from Oregon 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ and a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Nebraska Omaha. She was previously the Project Manager for the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab Center for Rehabilitation Outcomes and Research.

Dr. Shames received a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, an M.A. in Counseling from East Tennessee 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, and a B.A. in Psychology from Washington and Jefferson College. Previously, he was a Social Sciences Middle School Teacher at Southside STEM Academy at Campostella and an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Counseling and Human Services at Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.

Dr. Smith received a Ph.D. in Modeling and Simulation, an M.S. in Applied and Computational Mathematics, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. She was previously a Research Assistant Professor at the Virginia Modeling, Analysis, and Simulation Center at Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.

Dr. Weaks received a DNP from Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, an M.Ed. in Adult Education from The Pennsylvania 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, a B.S.N. from Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, and a B.A. in Psychology from North Carolina 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. Prior to joining the university, she was a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Advanced Heart Failure Unit and Cardiac ICU Unit at Sentara Heart Hospital.

Ms. Williams received an M.F.A. in Poetry from Cornell 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ and a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. She was previously a Graduate Instructor of Record in the English Department at The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Florida.

Dr. Charmaine Willis received her Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of New York at Albany, a Master of Arts in International Affairs from American 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Southern Maine. She is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at Skidmore College.

Mr. Wilson received an M.S. in Applied Mathematics, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a B.S. in General and Applied Mathematics from The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Arizona. Previously, he was a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Arizona.

Dr. Witherow received a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Old Dominion 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Old Dominion Research Foundation.

Dr. Wei Zhou received his Doctor of Philosophy in Finance from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Maryland, a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Minnesota Twin Cities, and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Science and Technology of China. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor and Interim Associate Head in the Department of Computer Science at The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of North Carolina at Greensboro.
