Glenn A. Yap, Ph.D., MBA, MS, is an Assistant Professor in the Master of Public Health Program at EVMS. He joined the program in August 2018. Dr. Yap teaches courses in the Health Management and Policy track. Dr. Yap is a recently retired Air Force Medical Service Corps officer (O-6) with 30 years of distinguished military service, mostly serving as a senior healthcare executive. Among his numerous roles, he served as a Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer of hospitals and clinics across the Unites 91¶ÌÊÓÆµs. Dr. Yap also served in various roles in the Air Force’s Office of the Surgeon General and at Headquarters Air Combat Command. In addition, he was an assistant professor and Deputy Program Director at the nationally ranked Army-Baylor Graduate Program in Health and Business Administration. Dr. Yap earned his Bachelor of Science (1987) in Integrated Life Sciences from Kent 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ, a Masters of Business Administration (1988) with a concentration in finance from Miami 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ and a Master of Science (2011) in National Resource Strategy from National Defense 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ. He received his Doctorate in Philosophy from The 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ of Alabama at Birmingham (2004) in Administration – Health Services with a concentration in Strategy. His current research interests include healthcare access and telehealth in public housing communities. He has been married to his bride Aranka for 33 years and has two sons, Jonathan and Alex, and two dogs Mailee and Yoshi.
